the silver lining...

the much awaited baby of the khandaan has finally arrived!
Priya gave birth to a lovely little baby last night at approx 11:15pm at Manipal Hospital.
In the morning i had called her, to ask her to come with me to see this flat at murugesh pallya tday morning..
she was all fine.. and she promised to come along..
i leave for my flight at 12:30pm.. get back home at 11:30 in the night..
and nandu mama calls.."congrats rahul"..
me: (wonderin to myself.. now wat did i do at this time of the night!!!)
nandu mama: abey dhakkan.. tu bhi mama ban gaya... priya just gave birth to a baby girl!
me: wtf??!!! how??? wat??? when??? where???

After getting the relevant updates, i run off to manipal..
and there i see the cutest little baby ive ever seen.. big eyes.. tongue perennially stickin in n out... and a very stylized elongated head..

rahul saiyya: hey rahul.. check this out..ive got myself an alien baby..!!!
me: way too cool man..
priya: its goin to shrink back to normal size in a few days.. its just cuz the baby's skull at the back is still not strong yet..

on the walk back home at 2 am.. i think to myself.. "alien" baby..maybe we shud call her "aaliyah"..(my version of a play on the word 'alien')

tday i tell uni uncle n rahul my suggestion..
uni uncle:"wat??? wats tat??? dont just invent gibberish names!!!"

hmmm.. well.. let me see rahul saiyya n priya come up with somethin better by 7th of nxt month.. 11th day naming ceremony of my little "aaliyah"..
