the bike chronicles..

my classic 500 has finally started showing its quirky behaviour...
the electric start always did act funny, especially during cold starts..

and now.. since i was unwell for a week now..i havent been riding the bike at all.
last nite when i tried cranking the bike..
the battery seemed almost dead.. the engine diagnosis LED did not even turn on..
and no amount of kicking,cajoling,recycling electricals worked...
the bike just refused to start.

hmmm.. i suspect there's some prob with the wiring on the bike, which is causing the battery to discharge.

update as of 24/12/09:
called the mechanic over.. he said the battery had completely discharged due to the cold weather! i ask him how does a new battery discharge due to a week of no usage.. he says its an enfield.. get used to it.. ride atleast 10-15 mins every other day.
well.. im not complaining.. tday did another airport run with a new battery.. and the bike purred like a kitten every single time i used the electric start...
PS- the cramster enduro jacket and the touring gloves i picked up.. are fantastic for the bangalore winters..the midnight airport run was comfy thnx to my riding gear...
